City Pages: The Local SEO Asset Most Law Firms Get Wrong

Table of Contents

Almost every law firm website has a page like Savannah Personal Injury Lawyer. Almost all of them are the same 300 words with the city name swapped out. Google recognises this pattern instantly, and it does not rank.

Why duplicated city pages fail

If I can copy your Atlanta page, replace one word, and publish it as your Macon page, so can Google’s systems. Pages that add no unique value get filtered out of local results.

What a strong city page contains

  • Local context — specific roads, intersections, or accident hotspots in that city.
  • Court and claim details relevant to that county.
  • Case results or testimonials from clients in that market, where permitted.
  • Distinct internal links to the practice areas that matter most locally.
  • A location-specific call to action, not a generic contact form.

Quality over quantity

Five genuinely useful city pages will outperform thirty thin ones every time. Start with the markets where you actually take cases, build each one properly, and expand only when the first set is ranking.

If your current city pages are not producing calls, that is usually a content depth problem, not a technical one.
